In COVID-19, is primarily transmitted via respiratory droplets and contact, and it is not transmitted through water. Although swimming areas are open-air venues with low risk for COVID-19, which is transmitted by droplet, the risk of COVID-19 infection increases if the social distance cannot be maintained. Therefore, in order to be safe in terms of COVID-19, maximum attention should be paid to the protection of social distance and the following measures must be followed:

1- Everyone in the event area should regularly monitor their health status before the race.

2- People with symptoms such as fever, cough, muscle aches, shortness of breath, diarrhea, covid-19 patients or who have close contact with them should not participate in the event, they should apply to the health institution with a medical mask.

3- Contact with sick people should be avoided. If possible, it should be at least 1.5 m away.

4- Especially after contacting sick people or their surroundings directly, hands should be cleaned frequently.

5- In activities such as being face-to-face with people and speaking, a mask should be worn as well as maintaining the social distance.

6- To ensure hand hygiene, hands should be washed with water and soap for at least 20 seconds. There is no need to use antiseptic soap, normal soap is sufficient. In cases of water and soap, alcohol-based hand antiseptic or cologne containing at least 70% alcohol should be used.

7- Hands should not be contacted with mouth, nose and eyes without washing.

8- During coughing or sneezing, the nose and mouth should be covered with disposable single-use tissue, and in case of no tissue, inner elbow should be used.

9- In the use of dressing booths, attention should be paid to social distance and hand hygiene.

10- Personal items such as towels, swimming goggles, etc. should not be shared with others.

11- The use of gloves does not replace hand cleaning, creates an unnecessary sense of trust, reducing the frequency of hand washing and increasing the risk of contamination with hands. Gloves should not be used to protect against COVID-19.
